We are Heshima Rescue-Centre and Heshima Children´s Home located in Mtwapa, Kenya

Heshima Children´s Home has a feeding program where it ensures that children get a well balanced diet and three meals a day. We provide education needs to all the children in the home. We have pre-school, primary and secondary pupils. With our two houses, both for boys and girls,  we provide shelter for all the children. They are living together as brothers and sisters under the care of a professional team. The program provides clothes, school uniforms and books to the children. Medical care is provided to all children.

About us

Heshima Rescue-Centre receives children both boys and girls who are being rescued from the community. Rescue children stay at Heshima Rescue-Center for 3 or less months while their cases being handled by court and children department office.

We provide basic knowledge for all children:

  1. Tailoring
  2. Computer studies
  3. Farming

Heshima Youth Empowerment – Community Based Organization (CBO)

A Community Based Organization (CBO) is a registered non-governmental, nonprofit and non-political organization.

Within community-based organizations (CBOs), there are many variations in terms of size and organizational structure. Some community-based organization (CBOs) with a written constitution and directors are formally registered and incorporated. Others are much smaller and informal, are registered by the Department of Gender and Social Development.

For a community-based organization (CBO) to be registered in Kenya through the Department of Gender and Social Services, a registration form must be duly filled and signed by the chief of the location where the CBO operates or the Assistant chief of the sub location where the CBO operates, The department of Gender and Social Services and Division social development committee.
